Self-Watering Transplant Pots, 3-inch

Gardening skill, success or experience is not necessary - many of us are just beginning to learn about Gardening.  Some are new to gardening in the climate of south Texas.  Several of our members are Master Gardeners and many members have lived in this area for a very long time.  They enjoy sharing information about their successes as well as their failures!

Membership in the Garden Club is open to all adult residents of ILE without charge.
We meet once a month, normally on the morning of the 2nd Monday.  Meetings are hosted by Club members who volunteer to open their homes.  There is a program each month following the business portion of the meeting.  Many of the Guest Speakers are Master Gardeners from the Texas Cooperative Extension Services' Montgomery County office that is located in Conroe.

We also schedule an outing each month.  Trips are on the 4th Monday unless the event is date specific.  Some of our favorite adventures  are listed here.

In addition to learning about plant related topics, we are committed to projects that benefit our entire subdivision – the Welcome Wagon, the Adopt A County Road cleanups, Holiday Decorating of the entrances.  We also host evening events with Guest Speakers who address topics of interest to all the families of ILE.

Welcome Wagon

The Welcome Wagon is a committee of the Garden Club. The club has decided to try a different approach to welcoming new residents to our community. We have held a social twice a year for the last 5 years and sent invitations to the new residents we were aware of. We are hoping to reach a higher number by contacting the residents personally. We will bestow a gift basket which includes information about Magnolia as well as Indigo Lake Estates and its various groups and activities. We will also help to host an event once a year (during cool weather) and invite the Garden Club members, the ILE Board members and the new residents we have met throughout the year. If you are new to ILE, if you have a neighbor that is new, or if you want to offer ideas or items for the gift baskets, please contact Nelda L., Welcome Wagon Chairman.

Come grow with us!

If you have thought about joining us, we encourage you to do so. We are welcoming new members each month, both male and female. Some of us are inexperienced gardeners, many are successful (despite the deer population) and everyone is friendly as we are all continuing to learn.
